This month’s featured designer layout was created by Patti- and she actually made four whole layouts by making the most out of her paper and ephemera! She decided to feature images of a Ukrainian festival.
The kit will contain instructions for the two pages with the fern-patterned background. Here are some closer images of each page:
I will give a quick peek below at the other two pages Patti came up with:
I love how Patti has reflected the colours from her floral wreath in how she coloured her circular die-cuts and the paint splatters she added to the background.
Patti has also added Glossy Accents over her flowers in the wreath to give them a bit of extra texture and dimension.
I love how Patti has used the same design style for both of these pages but given them such a different effect. Since the overall layout is quite similar, they still work together despite one having quite a darker and more vibrant colour pallet than the other. For the die-cut wreath, Patti downloaded a cut file from the Pink Fresh studio website and cut it on her electronic cutter.
To create the coloured-in flower effect, you can place the die-cut on the page (without adhering!). Once it is where you want it, make some pencil marks so you know where it will be. You can then remove the die-cut and use your pencil marks as a guide to add paints and inks to the page. Once it’s dry, just adhere the die-cut on top.
You can also try out this cool technique with any stencil-like dies that you have
Hopefully we have been able t give you some inspiration today! Stay warm 😀
