Good morning! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Today’s feature layout is a bright heritage layout created by Rayanne. Heritage layouts I have seen in the past tend to all use muted colours and patterns, so it is refreshing to see such a colourful and playful layout like this. It is also perfectly suited to the fact the heritage pieces featured in Rayanne’s photos are toys!
If you look at the photo above, you can see that Rayanne has done a couple things to pull her two pages together. For one, she has extended her orange and yellow strips from the first page onto the second page. She has also used black cardstock for matting all of her photos and blue for all of her long journaling blocks.
I love the film strip-like way Rayanne has lined up her small photos on the first page. It adds a bit more of a border to the photos and more order to the page.
Here’s a closer look at the first page.
On the second page, Rayanne shadowed the plant theme from her photo in the background using the floral die-cuts from the kit. Since she left the die-cuts white, they don’t make the background any busier or distracting from the photos.
I like how Rayanne has also made a distinction between her main text blocks and her photo captions. If the photo captions also had matting then it would distract from the photos and could make the layout too busy.
That’s all for today. I hope everyone has a lovely day and that you get some time to be creative 🙂
