Two-page continuous spreads were really popular this month! Usually there are a couple of 12×14 spreads and a couple of 12×12 coordinating pages, but this month everyone went the 12×14 route. Maybe it’s trending!? It’s a good chance for you to give it a try too!
Today’s feature layout was created by Erminia,, with lots of paper-piecing and mixed media.
I love how for her layout, Erminia grew her garden out from the patterned paper ephemera into the background using the plant silhouette stamps and die-cuts and the little fussy-cut butterflies. The purple cardstock segments could have ended up looking rather plain, but Erminia livened them up with black silhouettes, gold paint splatters, gold enamel dots (also very popular this month) and fussy-cut butterflies.
Erminia also added some black enamel dots and die-cut silhouettes over the pink patterned paper, which helps tie these segments in with the more mixed media center panel. She has also inked along the edges of her fussy-cut flowers to get rid of the sharp white edge.
Here is the design for you to give a go:
Have a great day!
