The countdown to Christmas is already down below ten days- I can’t believe how fast December has flown by! While I think everyone is probably excited for the Christmas holidays, I’m sure there are also a lot of kids “Waiting for Santa” like the two cuties featured in Sheri’s layout this month.
I love the tags that Sheri used on her layout. They really bring out the Christmas gift theme! I like how she added the boys’ names to the bigger tag, because it works as both part of the layout as well as the title.
The little bells she attached to the tag are just too cute. I might have to take some gift wrapping inspiration from this…! If you take a close look at the photo mat you can see that Sheri has also distressed and inked the edges. It matches well with the antiqued colouring of the photo and the style of the decoupage paper poinsettias.
Notice how she added the number brad over the poinsettia and also added some glossy accents to the holly. These little details keep the decoupage paper from blending into the background.
Speaking of the decoupage paper poinsettias, the ladies all got really creative with using them on their layouts! Sheri also used a couple different techniques. She left the big piece in the upper left-hand corner and the one at the bottom relatively loose, so the edges lift from the paper and the colours appear a bit bolder. She crinkled them a bit before adhering them to give a more antiqued, textured look. The piece on the “Waiting for Santa” tags is pasted more tightly to the paper, so some of the edges and colours blend in a bit more.
Like with the Glossy Accents on the holly, Sheri has helped make the paper ephemera pop by adding Stickles to some of the flowers and tree ornaments.
Here is a draft you can work off if you would like!
