I hope everyone is having a good start to the month! Vicki certainly is- she took of to Europe last week! Fortunately she finished her layout before she went (so I have something to post for you all today!).
One thing I love about Vicki’s layout is how she has kept the entire background in browns and cream, and then used the blues, reds, and yellows just for the ephemera. It really makes her photo and flowers stand out despite the background having rather busy patterns. Vicki also made sure to keep this colour scheme with her cardstock as well, using the brown cardstock between the background pieces and the red to mat the photo. She pulled these two schemes together by using the brown cardstock for the foliage around the flowers and the strip of brown music notes over the photo.
Vicki has also done some stenciling coming out below the flower clusters. It creates that last layer that ties the otherwise 3D flower cluster into the layout background. Since she used a cream coloured paste, it also coordinates with the cream ribbons that she used that might otherwise stand out too much.
Here is a close-up of the other flower cluster so you can take a look at how Vicki positioned all the pieces. Noticed how she has also added in random little accents like the bell brad, paper clip, and enamel dots.
As you can probably see, Vicki used a lot of different dies in her layout this month. If you are wanting to make this layout, here is a list of the dies and 3D impresslits she used:
- Tim Holtz Provincial 3D Impresslit 662759
- Tim Holtz Medallion 3D Impresslit 662720
- Tim Holtz Small Tattered Florals Thinlits Die 661806
- Tim Holtz Tiny Tattered Florals Thinlits Die 660227
- Tim Holtz Garden Greens Thinlits Die 661206

Have a wonderful day, and come see us in-store to see this month’s layouts in person!
