Jenna’s layout for the month features some absolutely adorable photos of her son playing at the river. I love how the colours work so well with the patterned paper and really bring out the nature theme.
I think it’s really cool how Jenna designed her layout this month kind of like a pocket page. Instead of doing a full-page style, she has neatly sectioned it into three different sections so that she has a photo strip along the side, a title block along the bottom, and a layout-style block in the top corner.
I really like the frame that Jenna made for her photo. It is a bit hard to see here, but she did actually also mat the photo with the dark blue cardstock, which makes the bakers twine frame really pop. Jenna also decided to adhere her charm to the layout rather than hanging it, so she used wire cutters and and sanding block to remove the ring from the charm.
The yellow square under the phrases also helps them pop from the background and anchors them to the photo. Sometimes when you are adding accents they can look isolated. Adding in a bit of cardstock like this helps bring them into the cluster.
Jenna did a bit of fussy-cut layering under the photo as well. Rather than cutting them out to the line, she left a good amount of black around them, which helps tie in the lay-out style block with her photo strip. It is also way easier and quicker than the more cutting out the exact images!
