July Page Kit ~ Danielle

Some memories are just too great to keep to yourself- nothing to do but ‘document’ them. The Carousel line put me on a theme park kick, and I couldn’t help but include this photo from Universal Studios. That said, whether you are a theme park/ ride lover or not, I hope you can take some inspiration from my layout.

For my layout I decided to focus on these copper accents, so I used less colourful patterns than I normally do to make the copper butterflies and sequins pop. The Bo-Bunny copper press-ons worked fantastic on the acetate, which let me add some dimension to my layout.

One thing I had a lot of fun with was creating my own shaker box for my layout- shaker boxes are super simple to put together and they make a big impact! All you need are: acetate, a punch or die the size & shape of your shaker, sequins or glitter, foam, and a sheet of double-sided tape, and some paper. For my shaker I used a die slightly bigger than the inside of the Ferris Wheel.

You can also play around with your metal number brads. I used a wax from Prima (Rich Copper Metallique Wax) to colour one and adhered paper over the other one.

Tomorrow on the Urban blog we will have a short tutorial that will teach you how to make your own custom shaker box, and more layout inspiration is set to follow next week.

We hope to see you in-store soon!
