We’re already into double digits of the new year and while the temperatures have now dipped back into the extreme cold territory, we hope you were able to get out when the weather was relatively milder, and snap some winter fun photos to scrapbook!
Today, I’m happy to share my page as the feature page for this month! Step by step instructions are included in the kit for this one but, as always, you can make any of the pages we feature here with the kit, or do your own thing. The choice is yours!
This time I used some very recent photos of what has become a tradition for my family over the holidays – to go ice skating on a local outdoor rink. We’re so lucky to have so many to choose from here! If winter is going to happen, we might as well make the most of it, right?!
Anyway, when I was deciding on photos, while I normally go with people shots as the focal point, this time I was really drawn to the shot of my skates and my hand knit sock covered feet (that were very cold at this point!). The knit socks echoed some of the designs in the patterned paper so it seemed to be meant to be!
The smaller photo is my 3 daughters and their friend who all trooped out on this very cold day – and posed for a photo! (this photo was printed right from my phone with a HP Sproket – a most wonderful Christmas gift from Nicole and Jenna – thanks ladies – such a fun and perfect gift for a scrapbooker!)
The sugar paste that is included in this kit was perfect for making snow covered accents and of course, the snowflake stencil added to the snowy outdoor theme very nicely! I love the way it sparkled against the darker paper!
I also used the glitter paste to completely cover some ‘swoops’ that I free hand cut from the Kraft card stock. It added such a wonderful shimmery look -just like sunlight on snow. I left the white pieces bare so I could write on them and incorporate some journaling into my page design.
I hope this sparks some ideas for your own crafting!
I’ll be back in the next day or two with some more pages using this month’s page kit. Please come again and keep checking back as we ramp up the year with exciting changes and challenges to enhance your paper crafting. It’s going to be a great year!
