Hi everyone!  Christmas is approaching fast and for those of you who are frantically trying to finish up calendars to give as gifts, here’s a few more layouts for inspiration.  Today we have two layouts from Colinda.

Colinda created her own wreath frame by cutting out a cardstock ring then embellishing with vellum snowflakes.  These can made with either punches or dies.

Colinda created a second layout with her leftovers (there’s always enough in our kits to create at least two layouts).  When using paper die-cuts, a way to make them stand out more, is adhere them to cardstock and trim close to the edge, just leaving a small border all the way around.  With adhesive backed stickers, this works well too.  Then you can also pop dot them for added dimension.  We all have border punches, and if you’re like most of us, forget to use them.  Plain cardstock turns into a nice detailed mat using one of these.

Speaking of calendars, Urban Scrapbook puts together a calendar package every year.  There are 12 (one for each month) layout kits inside, each with directions, a photo, and even if there are dies used on the sample layout, you get the die-cut pieces pre-cut inside.  All you have to do is assemble and adhere to a calendar.  The layouts are created by some of our staff and they are awesome! We also sell blank 12 x 12 calendars.  These have been really popular, so there might be just a few left!

Looking for gift ideas?  We have the new Heidi Swapp Gold Foil Memory Planners in.  These make great gifts even for non-scrapbookers.  There are lots of little extra pieces available too, magnets, pockets, stickers, etc.  They come in two sizes, 6 x 8″ or 3.7 x 6.7″ and in gold foil striped or dots.

If you still want to create a gift, we have these great mixed media frames, with chicken wire.

Jan created a Countdown to Christmas last year for Tim Holtz using a frame and added in her own chicken wire.  This one we have in the store is already for you to create your own masterpiece!

These would make a great gift that can be not only a Christmas decoration, but can be brought out every year for the Christmas countdown.
We also have shaped wood plank pieces that can be altered.
These stars measure about 13.5″ x 13.5″ and about 2″ thick.  There are also hearts and square shapes too.  These can be altered for a unique and personalized gift.  Add a small photo, embellishments, die-cuts, you’re done!

Dorothy created this for a Father’s Day class last year, but these Tim Holtz Flip Frames(TH93195) are so nice to hang a mini album on, or just photos.
We’re always happy to help you with ideas, we’re full of inspiration as you can see by our store displays!

We made our own Urban Post Box!  Look at all our cards flying out, ready to inspire you!

The very talented Lynette creates all our chalkboard art here at the store.  There’s her next Art Journal class on display which there might be a few more openings(this Tuesday night-December 15th)!
This is hanging above our front desk.  This paper cone tree was made by an Urban Girl.

There’s our whirlwind Lori,… we can never get a proper photo of her, she never stops long enough!  She’s busy setting up our draw – Win a box full of handmade cards (made and donated by all our staff).  There’s almost too many to fit in there (see that stack of them in the corner of the photo!)  Tickets are $5.00 and all the proceeds go to the Mustard Seed.  We are also collecting for the Food Bank, bring in a bag full and your name goes in for a fabulous door prize.

Whew!  That’s all for today, happy shopping!
