SEPTEMBER MONTHLY CHALLENGE – DOROTHY

Hello everyone!  It certainly felt like fall here this morning with the frost we had.  It’s happening too fast, hopefully we still have some warm weather ahead.  This wonderful layout from Dorothy will make you want a coffee as delicious as the one in her photo!

Dorothy used many different techniques to distress her layout this month. She combined Tim Holtz stencils; Splatters (THS009) and Bubbles (THS002), along with stamps (Ledger Script CMS241).  Distress markers used with the Tim Holtz Spritzer gives her layout a vintage feel.  Her cut out leaves were covered with Tim Holtz frosted film to give them a slightly sparkle look. Dorothy dyed her twine with Ken Oliver’s Ultramarine Blue Colorburst pigment powder.   Messy machine sewing completed her layout.  Awesome layout, Dorothy!

We have a crop tomorrow tomorrow night and there are still spaces available!

  1. This is just the most awesome project. The balance is always impeccable on Dorothy's layouts which strike me as entirely original too. That's a hard thing to achieve and she's so good at it. I really love all the torn edges and stitching and the way Dorothy dyed the string and tied it around her photo and mat. Awesome!
